Review #10: Robin by horrorboy04

Great use of sounds, I like that you had background noises for a majority of the movie. Usually people forget to do that and it makes it not seem as real. The music you picked was also very fitting.

Try and make all of the voice actors audio clean and clear and on the same level. For example remove the noise (background noise, fuzz, static, etc) from them and amplify them because it really takes away from the movie when you don’t do that. At times I couldn’t hear what some of the voice actors were saying. I think that was the major drawback I experienced while watching.

I thought you sets were very well constructed and helped add to the mood you were going for. I liked how they weren’t empty and actually looked like they were houses that were lived in.

I very much liked the color overlays that you were using for Robin compared to your other movies. The other ones seemed very harsh so I really hope that you continue using them.

I think that my favourite scene was the last one. I’m not really sure what it was that you did but I know it must’ve taken a really long time to achieve with the sims2. It seemed a heck of a lot more realistic than what I’ve seen online before and in previous projects you have done.

What I suggest working on is more camera movements. You had a few of them but I think I would’ve liked to see some more. I also would like to see you use some different genetics. Even though you sims were very well made, saybe they could’ve look more realistic, unless you were going for a cartoon look. I very much like Teru K’s genetics, as well as some other featured artists on modthesims2.com.

Also, for the future I would very much like to see you possibly break away from the gore and do a series/movie similar to something M. Night Shyamalan would produce (except better because a lot of his movies have stupid endings) or something similar to a Steven King novel.

I’m sorry I couldn’t have more suggestions but there wasn’t really anything you were doing wrong besides the audio levels. Fix those things up and I’m sure you would be able to achieve an A for sure.

  1. thanks so much for the review. I can understand about what you were talking about the audio, with robin I was really experimenting with different things that I haven’t used. Moveing camera, more variety in music, and ya, so it was kinda my first time for all this. I hope to get better with my next movie.

    Thanks Pam
